Lori Hamel was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and has 25 years of classroom experience which includes secondary ELA, newswriting, and drama as well as serving as department chair. In her most recent role as curriculum coordinator, she led the faculty at Roosevelt High School in several initiatives such as unpacking standards, curriculum mapping, aligning assessments, and data analysis. She also mentored several teachers, was an instructional coach, and facilitated numerous professional development sessions focusing on engaging strategies to increase student achievement.

In the last few years, Lori Hamel has coached Impact teams at Roosevelt which has resulted in an increase in teacher clarity and learning partnerships with students through the formative process. She has a passion for education and ensuring equity for all learners.
