Kim Flyr is passionate about creating space for people to have greater compassion for themselves and others. Kim currently works in Howard County, MD as a mental health counselor, yoga teacher, and freelance writer. She has previously spent 20 years serving the Howard County Public Schools as a teacher, counselor, and resource counselor. She has also served as a parent educator and educational consultant for Anne Arundel Community College and The National Family Resiliency Center.
Kim graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Maryland with a degree in Elementary Education and completed her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Loyola College. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LCPC), Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500), and Gallup Certified Strength Coach. Her personal essays have been published locally, nationally, and internationally.
Kim has served on several nonprofit boards, including the Women’s Giving Circle, The Howard County Commission for Women, and The Maryland Retreat Center. She speaks on the topics of compassion and wellness, facilitates a women’s circle, and is happiest when in conversation with others working to transform
