Research is essential to our understanding why things are the way they are, solving problems, and making difficult decisions. There are many other purposes for research, but in our day-to-day lives, our purpose is often simply to finish the thought, “I wonder why…”

Curiosity is a bit like an itch and with increasingly wide-spread and easy access to information, it has become easier than ever to “scratch the itch”.

In this Lunch & Learn, teacher and librarian Carson LeMaster breaks research into three general steps. She uses her love of stories to illustrate how prevalent informal research is in our lives and makes the point that research is a natural process and can be a lot of fun.
