Kristine Ono is a partner consultant specializing in educational technology and personalized learning for The Core Collaborative. She is also a District Office Intervention Facilitator for the Technology Integration Department in the Montebello Unified School District, which is the third largest school District in Los Angeles county. In her fifteen years as an educator, Kris has served students at all grade levels and in multiple capacities. Kris has developed her own leadership capacity as a Title I Coordinator, English Learner Facilitator and GATE Coordinator.
Kris is integral in the design and delivery of job embedded professional learning at the District level that address authentic integration of technology in the classroom with an emphasis on student-centered assessment and data use.. Kris is a member of her District’s Technology Plan Committee, is a Microsoft Innovative Educator participant, and is deeply committed to playing active role in assisting her district’s diligent efforts to make gains in the areas of Educational Technology.
Kris is passionate about student-centered learning and collaborating with educators in their systemic push to ensure that every student feels important, experiences success, and is able to take ownership over their learning. She has taken an active role towards establishing systems that support, honor and celebrate the processes that are fundamental to student-centered learning.
Kris earned a Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies with an emphasis in Ethnic Studies, and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of California at Santa Cruz. She loves to Stand Up Paddleboard, is an unadventurous foodie, and resides in Long Beach, CA.
