Kris brings with her over 28 years of experience in education. She has been a teacher of English/language arts, writing and humanities at the middle and high school levels, an elementary curriculum coordinator, a Title One Coordinator, a Gifted Talented Coordinator and a Co-director of Professional Development. She has also worked as an administrator at the high school level.
Kris spent four years directing a Gates Foundation grant for the Minnesota Association of School Administrators and the Minnesota Department of Education. During the course of the grant she trained well over 1600 Minnesota principals, superintendents and curriculum directors in instructional leadership and the use of data and technology.
In the ten years following the grant project, Kris has consulted with schools nationally and internationally on issues of assessment, grading practices, data use and instructional strategies. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota.
Kris holds a BA in English, a Ph.D. in Education Policy and Administration, and a post graduate certificate in School Technology Leadership from the University of Minnesota and a MA in English educational from the University of Wisconsin.
