Brian Tash is a mathematics professional development specialist who is currently a Partner Consultant with The Core Collaborative. Brian brings many years of successful educational experience as a classroom teacher, a district administrator, and a mathematics professional developer.
Brian has guided educators throughout the US to develop effective classrooms where students are engaged with important mathematics, lessons enhance student understanding and capacity to do math successfully, and students are engaged in ways of knowing and working consistent with the nature of mathematicians’ way of knowing and working (a fancy way of describing the Common Core Practice Standards).
Brian was previously Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment with the Beverly Hills Unified School District, Mathematics Coordinator with the San Diego Unified School District, and a teacher in the Oceanside Unified School District. Brian has been fortunate to consult with Teachers Development Group, Creative Mathematics, and the AIMS Education Foundation, and is thrilled to now be part of the important work being done by The Core Collaborative.
