Rigorous PBL by Design Partner Consultant
Brad Sever is a national presenter, speaking on project-based learning, instructional coaching, and leadership. He has provided professional development for charter schools, urban, rural, and suburban schools for the last 10 years. In addition, he is a National Faculty member for PBLWorks (formerly the Buck Institute for Education). His practical approach to professional development comes from the variety of experiences and perspectives he has gained.
Brad holds a B.S. in Secondary Social Studies Education from Huntington University, and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Ball State University. Brad has over 30 hours of course work completed towards his Ed.S in Educational Leadership also from Ball State University. Brad is trained in Cognitive Coaching, Expeditionary Learning, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
He currently serves as Assistant Principal at the largest comprehensive high school in Indiana. During his time in the role he has helped to create and sustain a successful Instructional Coaching Program, helped to grow the school’s International Baccalaureate Programme, as well as parts of their dual credit program. Brad has played an active role in creating structures for teacher-led professional development.
Prior to his current role, Brad has served as a Project-Based Learning Coach and an Instructional Coach in a large urban district, and Assistant Principal for an Expeditionary Learning Charter School, and a Middle School Teacher, where he helped develop an integrated Social Studies and Language Arts PBL course.
